Made a deal with Heinz Lumber to electrify garages.

Humphrey Gibson, Jr. takes over the business at the start of the Great Depression.

1932

Expands garage business into housing for returning GIs.

1935-1955

Gibson partnered with Commonwealth Edison in Chicago to be the exclusive contractor to convert residential gas ranges to electric.

Tom Gibson takes the business into thecommercial market.

Gibson Electric expands from 50 to 500 employees.

Gibson acquires CDS and becomes Gibson Electric & Technology Solutions.

2003

Gibson becomes one of Chicagoland’s largest commercial electrical contractors.
