Value Delivered

State-of-the-art energy infrastructure; luxury hotel amenities; reliable backup power; leading-edge security and fire protection; enhanced guest comfort; attainment of LEED “green building” and other prestigious awards.

Client Objectives

To build a new high-end boutique hotel.

Solutions

For this luxury hotel project, Gibson provided an array of single-source electrical contracting services. After bringing power from the local utility into the building’s main distribution panel, the company pulled lines to branch panels on each of the facility’s 12 floors. It then wired and installed receptacles, lights and other fixtures in the building’s 144 rooms. In addition, Gibson provided high-end lighting fixtures and a Lutron dimming system for the hotel’s ballroom, put in security and fire alarm systems, and connected the hotel’s 300-kilowatt backup generator.

Client Background

Hotel Arista is the focal point of CityGate Centre, a one-million-square-foot, mixed-use lifestyle center 30 miles from Chicago. One of the area’s first truly green hotels, the Arista uses 21 percent less energy and 30 percent less water than hostelries of comparable size. It is the first hotel in Illinois to receive LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Besides its 144 residential-style accommodations, Hotel Arista features a signature restaurant and 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
