As Senior Vice President, Electrical, Matt oversees large-scale complex projects with a focus on client value. His practical field experience, combined with an understanding of overall program management, provides Matt with an insightful perspective of the construction process.

Working alongside his team, Matt helps deliver projects on time and within budget while focusing on sustainable practices. His responsibilities also include business development, sales, estimating, and project supervision. Start-to-finish involvement helps Matt maintain continuity within his group and helps foster healthy relationships with customers.

Expertise

Matt garnered 17 years of experience working as a field supervisor on high profile projects before joining Gibson’s office staff. He now runs a division that focuses on mission critical, ground up, and health care construction.

In 1989, Matt joined Local 134 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). After serving his apprenticeship, Matt went on to complete an associate’s degree from Purdue University, Calumet, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College.

In addition to being a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-accredited professional, Matt also holds an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30 -hour certificate and is a licensed supervising electrician in the City of Chicago.

The Personal Side

Matt is married with three children. He spends his leisure time enjoying the outdoors with his family and volunteering for several community programs.
